Buying for someone who already has the car they wanted is hard. They don't need another BMW-logo mug, and anything for the engine bay needs a part number you don't have. The gifts that land are the ones they'll touch every day: the key, the phone, the cabin.
Below are 15 ideas sorted by budget, from stocking fillers to the one they'd never buy for themselves. Most are things we make, a few are not, and every one comes with a note on what you need to know before you order, because the worst gift is the one that doesn't fit.
The one thing every BMW owner carries every single day.
Quick picks
- Best overall: Alcantara key fob cover - $45
- Under $25: Alcantara keychain - $22
- For the Display Key owner: Display Key cover - $34
- The splurge: Carbon fiber paddle shifters - $166

$30 and under - stocking fillers
1. Alcantara keychain
$22
The same suede that wraps an M steering wheel, in a keychain. Small enough for a stocking, nice enough that it doesn't feel like one.
Good to know: works with any key, so there's nothing to get wrong.

2. AirTag key cover
$22
For the person who has lost the key at least once. Clip an AirTag to the key ring and it shows up in Find My like their phone does.
Good to know: suede stops the AirTag rattling against the key, and tracking works as normal. Add an AirTag if they don't have one.

3. Carbon fiber start/stop button
$30
A carbon fiber cap for the one button their thumb touches on every drive, and the first place the factory finish wears shiny.
Good to know: this one fits the 3 Series, 8 Series and X7. Check the listing for their model.

4. Alcantara key fob cover
$45
The gift we'd buy a BMW owner first. The plastic key gets scratched in a pocket within months. This wraps it in Alcantara, the soft suede used on M steering wheels and seat centers, while every button and the BMW roundel stay exactly where they were.
Four colors, so you can match their interior stitching: black, light grey, red or orange.
Good to know: it does not affect range or keyless entry. Check their key type first (see the tip above).

5. Leather key cover
$45
For the owner with a tan or cognac interior. Hand-stitched leather that darkens and softens with use instead of wearing through, with a matching leather or metal keychain.
Good to know: comes in black, brown and green.

6. Display Key cover
$34
If their key has a screen on it, this is the one. The Display Key is big, expensive to replace and very easy to scratch, and most covers don't fit it at all.
Good to know: a standard BMW cover will not fit the Display Key, so make sure you pick this one.

7. Sunglasses holder for the visor
$37
Clips onto the sun visor so their sunglasses stop sliding around the center console. Small, useful and in Alcantara, so it matches the cabin rather than looking like an aftermarket add-on.

8. Seat belt cover
$40
For long drives and short necks. Takes the edge off the belt across the shoulder, and the orange is a nice nod to the M color palette.

9. Headrest neck pillow
$52
Straps to the headrest for road trips and passenger naps. The kind of thing nobody buys for themselves but everybody uses once it's in the car.

10. Alcantara iPhone case
$56
The phone and the key are the two things that live in the car with them. This case matches the key cover, has a raised edge around the camera and grips the hand instead of sliding off the dash.
Good to know: MagSafe compatible. Pair it with the cardholder below for a set.

11. MagSafe cardholder
$45
Snaps onto the back of the phone and carries a couple of cards, so they can leave the wallet at home on a quick drive.

12. Real carbon fiber key cover
$68
For the M car owner. A rigid shell in real woven carbon, the same look as the trim on their dashboard. Available in black, red and silver weaves.
Good to know: choose the vented version, it keeps the antenna area open.

13. Carbon fiber paddle shifters
$166
Bigger carbon paddles that clip over the originals, so the shift is easier to reach mid-corner. A real enthusiast upgrade and one they will notice on every drive.
Good to know: this version fits M-Series cars (M2, M3 and others listed on the product page). Check their model before you order.

14. A driving school day
If the budget allows, nothing beats seat time. BMW runs official performance driving schools where owners learn car control on a closed track in M cars. It's the gift they'll still talk about next Christmas.
Good to know: look up the BMW Performance Driving School (US) or BMW Driving Experience (UK and Europe) for dates and prices.
15. A proper detailing kit
A good two-bucket wash kit with a pH-neutral shampoo, microfiber mitts and a drying towel. Most owners are still using a sponge from the gas station. Add a soft brush for Alcantara surfaces and the cabin is covered too.
Good to know: our Alcantara cleaning guide explains what to use on suede, and what never to use.

What do you buy a BMW owner who has everything?
Something they use every day but would never upgrade themselves. The key is the obvious one: it's in their hand every time they drive, it gets scratched, and replacing a BMW key costs hundreds. A cover in the same material as their steering wheel is a small luxury they'll notice daily.
Will a key cover fit any BMW?
No. BMW has used several key shapes, and the model year won't tell you which one they have. Match the outline of their key to the photos in our BMW key guide, or send us a photo and we'll confirm it.
What if I pick the wrong one?
We exchange it free if the key type turns out wrong, and every order has 30-day returns.
Does a key cover affect keyless entry?
Alcantara and leather covers don't affect it, so keyless entry and range work as before. With carbon fiber, pick the vented version, which keeps the antenna area open. More detail in Do key fob covers block the signal?
