Start with the key, not the car

Most brands have used three or four different key bodies across the same model range, so the year of your car does not decide the fit - the outline and button layout of the key does. The four materials

• Alcantara suede - the same family of material carmakers specify for performance steering wheels and seat centers. Soft, grippy, and non-conductive, so the key's range is unaffected.
• Carbon fiber - a light, rigid shell with a woven finish. Where a vented version is offered, take it: the vents keep the antenna area of the key open.
• Leather - hand-stitched, and it darkens and softens where you hold it rather than wearing through.
• Sheepskin - a softer, more padded feel than suede, for a key that lives loose in a bag.

What a cover does and does not do

It stops the scratches, chips and shiny wear that a key picks up in a pocket, and it gives you grip. It does not stop relay theft - only a Faraday pouch or a key with motion sensing does that, and no fabric or carbon cover blocks a signal well enough to count. We would rather say that than sell you a myth.
