Good gifts for Fiat owners depend on which Fiat is parked outside: a brightly painted 500, a Panda that does every job, an Abarth or a 1960s original kept for Sunday drives. Each owner wants something a little different, and you won't need their model year to get it right.

Below are 13 ideas for 500, 500C, 500e, Panda and Tipo drivers, with notes for Abarth and classic 500 fans, running from small gifts to days out. Nine are things we make, from a keychain for a classic 500's metal key to a suede cover for a 500, Panda or Tipo remote; four come from elsewhere, Turin's rooftop track and a LEGO 500F among them.

Quick picks

Check their key without asking

Our Fiat cover is cut for one key body, and its listing names 500, Panda and Tipo keys but not the 500e or Abarth, so the car alone won't settle it. Snap both sides of their key while they're busy elsewhere and compare the outline and button layout with the photos on the product page; our key fob cover fitment page explains what to look for. Still unsure: send us the picture and we'll confirm the fit, and if the key type turns out wrong, the exchange is free.

The short version, by car:

If they drive Start with Check first
A classic 500 (1957-1975) Alcantara keychain, Fiat 500 Club Italia membership, a July trip to Garlenda Nothing: the keychain fits any key
A 500 or 500C Fiat Alcantara key cover, sun-visor glasses holder Their key against the product photos
A 500e MagSafe cardholder, a visit to La Pista 500 Send us a key photo before ordering a cover
A Panda or Tipo Fiat Alcantara key cover, AirTag cover Their key against the product photos
An Abarth iPhone case, Apple Watch band Send us a key photo before ordering a cover

Small gifts and stocking fillers

Two ideas that work whatever key they carry.

1. Alcantara keychain

A Fiat 500 from the 1960s or 70s has no remote fob to dress up, only metal keys. A suede keychain suits that key, the spare in the drawer, or a newer Fiat key our cover doesn't fit. The ring and clasp are steel, and the suede is gentler on a phone screen than a metal fob.

Good to know: no fitment check needed. It hangs from the ring, not the key itself, so any key works.

2. Alcantara AirTag cover

A 500 or a Panda lives on short trips: the bakery, the station, the school gate. At every stop the key moves from coat to bag to café table, and sooner or later it stays behind at one of them. An AirTag clipped on shows them on their phone where it is, and the suede wrap stops the tracker knocking on the key as they walk.

Good to know: only the holder is ours. If they don't have an AirTag, add one only if they use an iPhone, since AirTag needs an Apple device. Bluetooth and the speaker work normally through suede.

The sweet spot

Mid-range gifts, led by the key cover we'd choose first.

3. Fiat Alcantara key cover

The key travels everywhere the car doesn't, and its plastic shell collects scratches from coins, house keys and the odd drop onto the pavement. Ours is shaped around a single Fiat key body rather than stretched over a generic one, and the seams are stitched by hand, so there is no glue to let go. Every button works through the suede (it doesn't weaken the signal, as our piece on how key covers affect the signal explains), and the emergency blade slides out as normal.

It comes in Red, Orange, Light Grey (Orange Stitching) and Black (Red Stitching). Red or Orange suit a brightly painted 500, Light Grey a white or silver one. Suede wants a soft brush, not a wet wipe; the Alcantara cleaning guide explains the details.

Good to know: the shape decides the fit, not the model. Compare a photo of their key with the product photos, or send us the picture, especially for an Abarth or 500e. Our Fiat key covers collection shows the current options, and swapping a wrong key type costs nothing.

4. Alcantara iPhone case

Orange and Light Grey come in both the case and the key cover, which makes a matched set easy. In a small Fiat cabin the phone tends to end up on the passenger seat or in a cupholder, and suede doesn't slide around there the way a glossy case does. It works with MagSafe chargers and wallets, and the rim sits higher than the camera and the screen, so both stay off the table.

Good to know: the size has to be exact. Versions cover the iPhone 14, 15 and 16 (standard, Plus, Pro and Pro Max), the 17, 17 Air, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, and the iPhone Ultra. The 16e isn't on the list, and no version fits a model that isn't. Case colors: Green, Orange, Light Grey or Dark Grey.

5. Alcantara MagSafe cardholder

Electric 500 drivers who charge away from home can end up carrying a charging card on top of a bank card and a transit card. A cardholder on the back of the phone keeps them together: room for two or three cards, a slot at the bottom to push the last one out, and magnets strong enough that it doesn't get left behind in a jeans pocket.

Good to know: their phone has to support MagSafe, or wear a MagSafe-compatible case like the Alcantara one above. It's made in dark grey only.

Everyday gifts for Fiat owners

Three things that ride along, in the car or on them, every time they drive.

6. Alcantara AirPods case

City driving in a Fiat often ends with a parking space a few streets away and a walk, which is when the AirPods come out. Until then, the case rattles around a door pocket with loose change and the parking ticket. In suede it stays put and doesn't get scuffed. Charging and the lid are unaffected, and the carabiner that comes with it clips onto a backpack.

Good to know: four sizes, AirPods (4th/5th Generation), AirPods Pro, AirPods (3rd Generation) or AirPods Pro (2nd Generation). The two Pro cases look alike, so be certain which pair they own, and there's no version for AirPods Pro 3.

7. Alcantara Apple Watch band

Even a car as compact as a 500 takes some hand-over-hand steering to get into a tight city space, and a metal bracelet knocks on the rim with each pass of the hands. Suede is silent there, doesn't feel sweaty the way silicone does, and clips on with the same lugs as Apple's own bands.

Good to know: there's a 38/40/41/42mm band and a 42/44/45/46mm and Ultra (49mm) band. Turn their watch over to read the case size. A 42mm watch from Series 10 onward takes the smaller band; an older 42mm (the first watch to Series 3) takes the larger one.

For the 500C

8. Alcantara sun-visor glasses holder

The 500C's cloth roof folds back in stages at the press of a button, and with it open, sunglasses go on and off all day as the streets swing between sun and shade. Clipped to the sun visor, this holder gives them one place to reach for. Wide sports frames and aviators fit, and the inside is lined with suede so lenses don't scrape on plastic.

Good to know: colors are Red, Orange, Green, Light Grey and Dark Grey; the Red and Orange share their names with two key cover shades.

Experiences and things we don't make

Not ours, but worth knowing about: each of these four would land with a Fiat fan.

9. A walk on La Pista 500 in Turin

Fiat's old Lingotto factory in Turin has a test track on its roof, where new cars were driven before they left the building, and it featured in the 1969 film The Italian Job. Today it is La Pista 500, a rooftop garden of more than 40,000 plants run by the Pinacoteca Agnelli, the gallery Renzo Piano added on the same roof.

In 2021, Dezeen reported that the track would be used by electric cars and to show off the electric 500, which gives a 500e owner a personal reason to go. Turin's tourism office lists the gallery ticket as covering the Pista 500 and Casa FIAT, the brand's exhibition space in the building.

Good to know: it works best as part of a Turin trip. Check the official Pista 500 page for tickets and what's open.

10. A July trip to Garlenda

Every July, Fiat 500 Club Italia holds its International Fiat 500 Meeting in Garlenda, in the province of Savona in Liguria. It's a gathering of classic 500s and their owners; the 2019 edition drew 920 participants from 11 countries.

The village also has the club's Multimedia Museum of the 500 "Dante Giacosa", named after the engineer behind the 1957 Nuova 500, with working cars lent by members.

Good to know: the meeting is built around the original car, so it suits a classic owner best. Look for dates and registration on the Fiat 500 Club Italia site.

11. A Fiat 500 Club Italia membership

For someone who owns a classic 500, this is the club. It describes itself as the largest model club in the world and lists more than 22,000 members. Membership brings a club card and gadgets, the 4PiccoleRuote magazine in print and digital, and free entry to the museum in Garlenda. There are separate options for members outside Italy.

Good to know: the site doesn't explain how to give a membership as a present, so contact the club first. The details are on its membership page.

12. The LEGO Fiat 500 (10271)

LEGO has made a Fiat 500 (10271), a 960-piece Creator Expert model of a late-1960s 500F in yellow. The sunroof opens, the engine can be inspected once it's built, there's a luggage rack on the back, and it comes with a small folding easel holding a painting of the car outside the Colosseum in Rome.

Good to know: Brickset gives the set's exit date as December 2022, so look for a complete one from collectors or secondhand.

13. JONPARTS gift card

When their key doesn't match our cover, or they drive an Abarth or a 500e and you'd rather not guess, hand them the decision with a gift card. It's delivered by email, which makes it the one idea here that still works the night before.

Good to know: delivery goes to the checkout email address. Put in yours, then print the code or forward it to them.

More than one car person on your list: the car guys gift guide rounds up every brand we make covers for. Closer to home, see gifts for Alfa Romeo owners, or gifts for Mini owners for anyone who knows The Italian Job by heart.

Common questions

What are good gifts for Fiat 500 owners?

Start with what's in their hand on every trip: a suede cover cut for their Fiat key (photograph the key first), then an Alcantara iPhone case in a matching color. A classic 500 owner may prefer the club membership or the LEGO 500F above.

What are good gifts for Abarth owners?

We don't make anything Abarth-specific, and our Fiat key cover listing doesn't name Abarth keys, so send us a photo before ordering one. The Alcantara iPhone case, Apple Watch band and AirPods case don't depend on the car, and the gift card leaves the key question to them.

Will a Fiat key cover fit any Fiat key?

Not every one. Our cover is cut for a single key body, and Fiat fobs come in a few shapes, so the model name alone won't tell you. Compare their key with the photos in our Fiat key fob covers collection, or send a picture through the contact page for a straight answer.

Do you make a carbon fiber or leather Fiat key cover?

No, not for Fiat right now. The Fiat cover is Alcantara only, in four colors, with hand-stitched seams. For any Fiat key the cover doesn't fit, the Alcantara keychain is the alternative.

What is a good gift for a classic Fiat 500 owner?

A 1957-1975 500 uses plain metal keys, so skip the key cover and give the Alcantara keychain instead. For the car itself, a Fiat 500 Club Italia membership, the July meeting in Garlenda or a complete LEGO Fiat 500 (10271) from a collector are all built around the original.

What happens if the Fiat key cover doesn't fit?

We exchange it free when the key type is the problem. Any order can also be returned within 30 days, carries a 1-year warranty, and ships free worldwide with duties and VAT included.
